WAEPA Launches Group Short-Term Disability Insurance

WAEPA has been serving Civilian Federal Employees and their families with affordable group term life insurance for over 75 years. To continue making your needs our mission, we are pleased to provide a new product, Group Short-Term Disability Insurance,* which provides income replacement to federal employees who are temporarily out of work due to a covered short-term illness or injury.

Did you know, one in three working Americans will become disabled for 90 days or more before age 65 (TMA). Many Feds don’t realize that their work benefits don’t cover short-term disabilities, such as a broken leg or concussion. These situations are not usually planned and can force you to choose between going without a paycheck or cutting your recovery time short.

WAEPA wants to help put your mind at ease and help you support your family while also supporting yourself. Employees who qualify can receive up to $6,500 a month in benefits to replace their  paycheck while they temporarily recover. This income protection is payable for up to six months of recovery from covered illnesses and injuries.

WAEPA’s Short-Term Disability Insurance coverage is offered to all eligible WAEPA members who are full time, non-seasonal Civilian Feds, ages 18 to 69. STDI includes valuable product benefits such as:
