Time Flies but You’re the Pilot : Better Late Than Never to Practice Good Time Management

The prompt for this round of the FEDforum is better late than never. This week, hear from Blacks In Government (BIG).

One question I've been asked more than any other over the last two years is how do I find the time to do it all. Between serving as National President of Blacks In Government (BIG) and as a Senior Executive Service (SES) member at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), it honestly feels like I have two full time jobs. Well, the short answer is I don’t do it all. I am surrounded by a Dream Team of elected officers and committee chairs who are just as committed to the BIG mission as I am. And, at GAO, I am surrounded by a staff of attorneys, paralegals, and supervisors who are all in on GAO’s mission.

That said, I do juggle a lot and I am sure you do as well. So, I could just say we make time for what’s important to us. But, that cliché while true will get you nowhere fast. So, if I had to sum it up in a few words I would say my key to juggling it all really is managing my time wisely. And, because I am always looking for new ways to do that, we have teamed up with Southern New Hampshire University to provide you a webinar that focuses solely on time management. I’ll be there looking for new tips and I hope you will too. Don’t forget to use the link below to register. And, feel free to bring your lunch to the virtual table. With all microphones muted we won’t hear anyone chewing.
