The Bill Bransford First-Generation Scholarship

The FEDforum is brought to you by WAEPA. New Year, New Rates! This year, WAEPA’s rates are even more exclusive than before. Visit WAEPA.org to check out our new rates today.

This FEDforum article is FYB — for your benefit. This week, hear from the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA).

This year marks the third Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) will offer the Bill Bransford First-Generation Scholarship, with help from the Bransford Family and the law firm of Shaw, Bransford and Roth. We are pleased to announce this $7,500 scholarship is available again this year for first-generation college students who are the children of eligible federal employees or are federal employees themselves.*

Applicants can apply through FEEA’s common application available at feea.org/scholarships. FEEA uses a single application portal for the administration of our many scholarships. The application deadline for the current cycle is Thursday, March 24, 2022.

The Bill Bransford fund was established to honor the memory of one of FEEA’s long time supporters and board members, Bill Bransford, an attorney and founder of the law firm Shaw Bransford & Roth. Bill was committed to fairness and respect of all federal employees and a champion of higher education.

* Applicants will denote their eligibility for this program by providing information on the highest level of education completed by their parents in the final section of the application.

The column from Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund is part of the FEDforum, an initiative to unite voices across the federal community. The FEDforum is a space for federal employee groups to share their organizations’ initiatives and activities with the FEDmanager audience.
