Law Rocks Battle of the Bands Featuring Local Professionals Coming to D.C.

On Thursday, September 13th at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., Law Rocks will be hosting its fourth annual battle of the bands, with the event touting a lineup of bands including both previous and new entrants. The bands are made up of local legal and non-profit professionals, with each act contributing proceeds to a chosen charity.

Law Rocks hosts a global tour, with its website promoting at least 23 similar events around the world.

Bands performing include Goat Rodeo (supporting the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund and featuring legal professionals from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Bloomberg BNA).

Bands will be judged based on four categories: the amount of donations they receive, their ticket/sponsorship totals, their performance scores from a panel of judges, and their votes from an audience ballot.

Currently, the band IC/DC leads the acts in donation amounts, having collected $9,436. The band was created specifically to perform at Law Rocks and is made up of in-house counsels (thus “IC”) from General Dynamics, ASRC Federal, Fannie Mae, Merchant Link, and Amazon Web Services.

Charities supported include FEEA, Martha’s Table, Doorways for Women and Families, and the Legal Aid Justice Center.

Full event details and registration information is available via the Law Rocks D.C. website.
