Feds Encouraged to “Show Some Love” In New Charity Campaign
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) – the official workplace giving campaign of the federal government – kicked off the 2016 giving season by introducing a new slogan encouraging federal employees to “Show Some Love.”
The annual charity drive, which runs from now through December, has seen a drop in the past few years after hitting a high of $282.6 million in donations in 2009.
“As federal employees, all of us have a commitment to public service,” said Local Federal Coordination Committee chairman Vince Micone. “We have a commitment to promoting the general welfare of the communities that we live in. We not only endeavor to do this in our professional lives, but our personal lives as well.”
In an effort to centralize individual donations through the online platform to make it easier for employees to make donations, this year the CFC has partnered with GiveBack.org.
When speaking with Federal Times, Stephen Paletta, the founder of GiveBack.org, said new platform will “offer federal employees individual accounts to manage their donations and gives charities the chance sign up through a charity application portal, providing direct access to the federal government’s 4.2 million employees. “
CFC is also planning social media days of action on Sept. 21, Oct. 11 and Nov. 1 and 21 to spread awareness of the new campaign and platform.
