    IRS Releases Six-Year Modernization Plan

    The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released a six-year plan to improve information technology systems and services to taxpayers. The plan includes four “modernization pillars” that the agency plans to expand upon over time based on emerging needs, priorities, and partnerships with the tax community. Ultimately though, the plan depends on Congressional funding.

FMA Pushes for Extension of Probationary Period

On Thursday, November 2nd, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform marked up the EQUALS Act of 2017 (H.R. 4182) by a vote of 19 – 17. H.R. 4182 was introduced by Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and would extend the probationary period for employees entering the federal workforce to two years upon the completion of formal training.
