In the past year, “fake news” went from an obscure term to a campaign concern to a political weapon. Now, if somebody doesn’t like your story, you could be labeled a purveyor of fake news.

In a recent letter from the Office of Government Ethics – the federal government’s top watchdog – the agency’s acting director noted the White House had provided minimal guidance pertaining to the Trump administration’s “oversight and implementation of Executive Order 13770, which establishes an ethics pledge for certain executive branch appointees, including White House personnel.”
Reports emerged today that President Donald Trump’s administration blocked EPA employees from posting on social media or speaking to reporters. A similar ban was reported over the weekend regarding Interior Department staff.
