CASES Act Passes Unanimously Out of Senate Committee

Bipartisan legislation aimed at improving constituent services passed unanimously out of committee in the Senate this week. The Creating Advanced Streamlined Electronic Services for Constituents (CASES) Act of 2019 seeks to streamline the process by which constituents, congressional offices, and agencies interact by modernizing provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974.

Bipartisan PFAS Accountability Act Seeks to Involve Federal Agencies in Water Contamination Cleanup

Bipartisan legislation has been introduced in the Senate to hold federal agencies accountable for water contamination on federal property that seeps into local lands. The PFAS Accountability Act comes on the heels of a report showing that 19 million people in 43 states have been exposed to water contaminated by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Customer Feedback Legislation Reintroduced in 116th Congress

A bipartisan group of lawmakers has reintroduced a measure to reform the process agencies use to gather feedback from the public. The Federal Agency Customer Experience Act (FACE Act) of 2019 has been introduced by Senators Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and James Lankford (R-OK.). The bill mirrors legislation passed through both chambers in the last Congress that never made it to the president’s desk for signature.
